Finally A Place Where You Don't Have To Be the Strong One

Confidential, Judgment-Free Support for Therapists

In Illinios, South Carolina and Psypact* States

You sit with people’s pain every day. You hold space, guide breakthroughs, and witness deep transformation. You know the tools. You teach the skills.

But when it comes to your own struggles?
Who do you turn to?

If you’re feeling drained, overwhelmed, or like you’re carrying too much for too many people, you are not alone. Therapy with me gives you a space where you don’t have to have all the answers—where you can just be.

But when it comes to your own struggles?
                          Who do YOU turn to?

You spend your days listening, holding space, and guiding others through their hardest moments. You’re the steady one. The safe one. The one people turn to when their world is falling apart.  But when you close the office door at the end of the day? When you finally have a moment to yourself?

That’s when the weight settles in. The exhaustion. The quiet loneliness of always being the helper, never the one helped.

And even though you know better—you tell yourself to push through.

Maybe you even tell yourself other things like…

“People count on me. I don’t have the luxury of falling apart."

"I tell my clients to listen to their emotions, but honestly? I feel disconnected from my own. It’s like I’m running on autopilot.”

"I hold space for so many people’s pain, but where do I put my own? I don’t even know who I could talk to that wouldn’t expect me to have all the answers."

"I know what I should do. Set boundaries. Prioritize self-care. Practice what I preach. But somehow, following my own advice feels impossible."

"Sometimes I feel like a fraud. Like, if I’m struggling, what does that say about me as a therapist? I should have this figured out."

Therapy for therapists isn’t about teaching you what you already know. It’s about giving you the space you give everyone else—so you can process, heal, and feel like yourself again.

The Emotional Toll of Being a Therapist

Being a therapist means you’re exposed to grief, trauma, and emotional suffering—daily. You absorb people’s stories. You hold their secrets. And even though you’re trained for this, it still takes a toll.

When you don’t have a place to offload the weight of what you carry, it builds up:

❌  Compassion fatigue—you care deeply, but it’s exhausting.
❌  Emotional numbness—you’re helping others feel, but you feel nothing.
❌  Chronic stress and anxiety—the mental load never stops.
❌  Struggles with boundaries—clients, colleagues, even loved ones expect too much.
❌  Guilt for even considering stepping back—as if your well-being matters less.

This isn’t sustainable. And you know that.

Therapy gives you the space to process your emotions, recalibrate your boundaries, and reconnect with your needs—without the weight of anyone else’s expectations.

Because you deserve care, too.

What If Therapy Felt Like a Relief Instead of Another Obligation?

Imagine having a space where:

✔  You can say anything—without worrying about how it lands.
✔  You don’t have to be helpful, insightful, or “on”—you just get to be.
✔  You process what’s weighing you down instead of carrying it alone.
✔  You set boundaries that actually protect your energy.
✔  You remember why you love this work—without sacrificing yourself for it.

Therapy with me isn’t another to-do on your list. It’s a space that’s entirely for you—because you spend every other moment taking care of someone else.

How Online Therapy for Therapists Works

This isn’t another training.

This isn’t supervision.

This is a space where you don’t have to perform, explain, or hold back.  You can make whatever facial expressions you want!

🔹 We start where you are. No pressure, no expectations—just a space to be real.
🔹 We process what’s coming up for you—burnout, stress, boundaries, imposter syndrome, whatever’s keeping you up at night.
🔹 We look at what’s keeping you stuck. The beliefs, patterns, and pressures making this harder than it has to be.
🔹 We make a plan. A real one. One that prioritizes your well-being—not just what sounds good on paper.
🔹 We give you permission to put yourself first. (Even if that feels wildly uncomfortable at first.)

I offer a confidential, supportive, and judgment-free space—because I know how rare that is when you’re the one who usually holds it for others.

Hi, I'm Dr Susan

I know firsthand how easy it is for therapists to forget themselves in the work. I also know how powerful it is to have a space where you don’t have to be the strong one.

With over 25 years of clinical experience, including hospital work, supervision, and training for other therapists, I understand the unique stressors of this field. And I know that sometimes, knowing the skills isn’t enough—you need a space where you can actually use them.

Let’s get you the support you deserve.

You Are More Than Your Role. You're a Person Who Matters.

You don’t have to wait until burnout takes over.
You don’t have to keep pushing through.
And you definitely don’t have to do this alone.

Therapy isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity for people who hold the weight of others’ pain.

Let’s get you some breathing room.
